EXHIBITING DIANA LUI

As part of Se Persica’s collaborations with artists, we are exhibiting the work of Diana Lui.

Diana is a photographer and filmmaker of Chinese and Punjabi origins from Malaysia. Based in Paris for the past 25 years, her work explores the evolving definition of cross-cultural identities—past, present, and future—as well as hybrid and non-identities.

Her approach to portraiture is slow and methodical, requiring a personal and emotional connection with each subject.

She has exhibited in some of the most prestigious institutions around the world, including the Guangdong Museum of Art, Shanghai Art Museum, Fototeca de Monterrey in Mexico, Museo de Bellas Artes Caracas in Venezuela, Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi in Belgium, Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, Musée Les Abattoirs, and Musée Paul Dupuy in Toulouse, southern France.

Her work is held in public collections such as the Guangdong Museum of Art, Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi, Museo de Bellas Artes Caracas, and the University of California, Los Angeles. Recent private collectors include King Mohammed VI of Morocco and the new Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech.

Diana's art is printed in very limited editions, using an artisanal, hand-controlled process in Paris.
